United Way of Whitley County Now Accepting Day of Caring Project Requests
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 10, 2019
The United Way of Whitley County 16th Annual Day of Caring will take place on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. As the largest volunteer event in Whitley County, Day of Caring promotes the spirit and value of volunteerism, increases awareness of local human service agencies and demonstrates what amazing things people can accomplish while working together to make Whitley County a better place to call home. Last year, Day of Caring volunteers completed over 40 projects and donated nearly $40,000 in volunteer labor.
Project applications for Day of Caring are available online at www.unitedwaywhitley.org/day-of-caring. As we strive to create positive impact in the areas of health, education and financial stability we are looking for projects that local nonprofits may need assistance with. This event is a unique opportunity for your organization to establish relationships with local businesses, strengthen volunteers’ awareness of your mission and tackle large and small projects that might not otherwise be accomplished.
Project applications are due by July 15th.
Day of Caring offers amazing opportunities for individuals or groups of volunteers to connect in our community. It provides a way to give back to the community in tangible, highly appreciated ways. Volunteer Registration will open on August 5th.
United Way of Whitley County brings together compassionate people who are committed to improving lives in our community. For 45 years, we have worked to help residents of Whitley County achieve and maintain self-sufficiency by focusing on three key areas of community impact: Education, Health and Financial Stability. United Way works with local businesses, human service agencies, schools and governmental institutions to ensure contributions do as much good as possible throughout our community.
Please join us in improving the quality of life in our community by volunteering with United Way programs and other meaningful service opportunities; advocating by telling friends and colleagues about your involvement with United Way; or by giving a financial gift to support community programs that provide a better quality of life for all of us. Great things happen when we LIVE UNITED.
