United Way of Whitley County Announces Jeff Bleijerveld as Director

The United Way Board of Directors is pleased to announce Jeff Bleijerveld (bly-er-veld) as the United Way of Whitley County’s Executive Director.

Bleijerveld holds an undergraduate degree in Theology and Intercultural Studies from Emmanuel Bible College and a master’s degree in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He has a combined 36 years of experience as a pastor in Canada, overseas worker in Spain and in executive missions leadership locally. Prior to joining United Way of Whitley County, Jeff served as the Executive Director of UB Global – the international arm of the United Brethren in Christ.

What excites Jeff most about United Way is the opportunity to develop the kinds of relationships that unleash energy, creativity, human connections and joy. He believes that we truly are better together and views the United Way’s impact areas of Health, Education and Financial Stability as more than simply problems to be solved, but as opportunities to build relationships and transform communities.

Bleijerveld and his wife live in Columbia City, they enjoy hiking, cycling and gardening together. They have three adult children and five grandchildren who all live close by in Fort Wayne. Jeff is an Indiana Master Naturalist, enjoys photography, canoeing and pen and ink sketching.
