Nominations Open for Volunteer of the Year
United Way of Whitley County is grateful for the loyal community partnerships it shares with a variety of local nonprofit organizations, businesses and corporations. In an effort to give back to those who help us accomplish our mission of changing lives in Whitley County, United Way of Whitley County would like to help you recognize and honor a local employee or board member from your organization who has demonstrated a dedication and commitment to building a better community through her/his volunteerism.
Each nominee will be evaluated by a panel of involved citizens and community leaders based on the criteria listed below:
- Candidates must have performed their volunteer services in Whitley County.
- Award consideration is based on volunteer services contributed to Whitley County during the past 12 months (July 2015 – June 2016).
- Involvement of the nominee was active, not solely as a figurehead.
Volunteers are the heart and soul of our community. Volunteers strengthen our community by increasing our capacity to identify and respond to human needs. Volunteering creates ownership within our community and raises awareness of our assets and needs among people who live and work here. Volunteering also creates relationships at the institutional and personal level which are a vital part of the fabric of our community.
Help us celebrate those who choose to LIVE UNITED by taking action, creating change, and solving problems that have helped to change lives in Whitley County. Enclosed, you will find a LIVE UNITED Volunteer of the Year Award nomination form which must be returned to the United Way of Whitley County office no later than 5pm on Friday, July 29, 2016.
