Meet Scott Duffitt ~ 2014 United Way Volunteer of the Year

We all have special talents. Things we can do to help.  And, when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.  This is true for Scott Duffitt, United Way of Whitley County’s 2014 Volunteer of the Year.  Scott has a true passion for youth in Whitley County and uses his volunteer time giving back through a variety of ways, helping individuals, but affecting our entire community.

Scott has served as a volunteer with Junior Achievement of Whitley County for a number of years.  He began volunteering with JA as a classroom instructor, teaching students the importance of financial responsibility.  More recently, Scott has expanded his volunteer efforts with JA and has served as their organization’s Treasurer for the past eight years.  In addition to JA, Scott also serves on the Finance committee for Whitley County Chamber of Commerce and is the voice of the Churubusco Eagles announcing their football and baseball games.  Scott also serves on the Business, Education, Community Board for Smith-Green Community Schools in Churubusco, IN.

Scott enjoys volunteering with youth and is a firm believer that we should support our youth and build them up whenever possible as they are the future of Whitley County.  He believes by empowering youth, a community can provide them with the foundation to become excellent leaders.

Thank you, Scott, for giving back to Whitley County through your time and talents !  You are a wonderful example of what it means to LIVE UNITED !
